I'm on a tangent, but I suppose you can make links between religion and politics - with an example being Blair saying he was guided by his faith throughout his time in Number 10, and religion is likely to have an impact upon your politics. Therefore, when I discovered a jazzy little religion calculator with the sterling name of Belief-O-Matic, I couldn't resist sharing it with you.

What's the purpose of this? It may not have one for you. If you're a devout -insert religion here-, then there'll probably be little interest aside from seeing if the answers you give tie up to the outcome you're expecting, but for others, it's interesting to see where your beliefs may best tie up to in terms of a religion. Having answered the questions, I was given a 100% match with Humanism. I'd never really thought about that before, but I suppose it's an accurate result. I don't believe in a god or higher power; am sceptical of organised religion; and believe in trying to lead a moral, enjoyable life and working to improve things. Another positive outcome from this little quiz is that it caused me to go on an epic Googlequest, searching for information about Humanism, and the more I read about it, the more I agreed and thought it matched me. Finding a philosophy by which to (attempt) to live my life isn't bad work for one evening.

Anyway, I just thought it might be interesting for some of you. I'll get back to my usual ranting and raving in the next article.

Pop off to for your fill of enlightenment.
